Notice how the sleeve goes at the base of the metering rod:



Here both metering rods are installed with the springs holding them in place:



For the next measurements, turn the fast idle screw down all of the way:



The throttle valves should be seated:



With the throttle valves seated, push down on the metering rods until they seat, and adjust the metering lever so that it just barely touches the yoke. There is a little tong that sticks out on the bottom:
